“No Problem” (Duke Jordan).
From “Les Liaisons Dangereuses” original soundtrack, 1960.
An interesting set of music originally recorded as the soundtrack for the French film Les Liaisons Dangereuses, the majority of these tracks feature Art Blakey’s Jazz Messengers of mid-1959 with trumpeter Lee Morgan, tenorman Barney Wilen, pianist Boby Timmons and bassist Jymie Merritt joining the explosive drummer/leader. In general, the music manages to stand on its own with the ensemble getting to stretch out a bit on the rare material (AllMusic Review by Scott Yanow).
I saw this film (even read the book), which was made into an American colored version starring Michelle Pfeiffer, as I recall. But I never realized this Duke Jordan song was from the original French film. The version that hit home for me was Chet Baker's (with Duke Jordan and, above all, Nils Orstad Pederson). Blakey was always the "force of nature," simply an irreplaceable drummer (the reason that revival bands of The Jazz Messengers" fall flat on their face, sounding anemic by comparison. But the supreme pleasure is to hear Blakey with Doug Watkins–the time floats and dances like Chambers with Philly Joe but with greater consistency (Paul could become inattentive on the live sessions).
Music from the heart.
Not as good as Charlie Parker's version.
Barney Wilen on tenor sax?

Powerhouse Modern Jazz – marvelous! Sadly most of today's youth wouldn't appreciate it.
That's the shit…..
That's Probably Lee Morgan..
Absolute killer riff!
Who plays trumpet??
magnifguier (représente la beauté pure et la production de délicieuses sensations fruitées)…
oh like magic to my ears…
This feeling can not be expressed by words, but only with worlds
Coolitude……:)))
I recently asked three of my professors from the jazz department for references and the first thing they all said, swear to god, was "no problem!"
