“Birdland” is a famous jazz-fusion instrumental by the band Weather Report, released on their 1977 album Heavy Weather. Written by keyboardist Joe Zawinul, it became a massive commercial success and a jazz standard, featuring Jaco Pastorius’s distinct artificial bass harmonics.
