Peter Leitch’s recording debut as a leader finds the cool-toned guitarist showing plenty of potential. He swings through six songs (five group originals and “Prelude to a Kiss”) with pianist George McFetridge, either Neil Swainson or Art Davis on bass, and Terry Clarke or Freddie Waits on drums; trombonist Terry Lukiwski sits in for two songs. The modern mainstream music is still pretty undated, although this LP from the small Canadian label Jazz House will not be easy to locate (Scott Yanow/AllMusic).
