“Guitarist Mundell Lowe plays quite well in a sparse trio with bassist Monty Budwig and drummer Nick Ceroli on this LP, swinging melodically. Unfortunately, the song selection is not too inspired (with two obscurities joined by such warhorses as “Scrapple from the Apple,” “Satin Doll” and “Prelude to a Kiss”), and no real surprises occur, but it does serve as a fine showcase for Lowe’s attractive sound and straight-ahead style.” – Scott Yanow/AllMusic.
