Made in Brazil is a celebrated 2015 studio album by the Brazilian jazz pianist, vocalist, and composer Eliane Elias. It marks a musical homecoming for Elias, as it was her first album recorded in her native Brazil since moving to the United States in 1981, and it earned her a Grammy Award for Best Latin Jazz Album.

Album Details and Reception
Genre & Style: The album primarily falls under the Brazilian jazz, samba, and bossa nova genres, blending traditional and modern Brazilian styles with contemporary and straight-ahead jazz.

Production: Elias wore many hats for the project, acting as a producer, composer, lyricist, arranger, musician, and vocalist. The album was produced by Elias, along with longtime collaborators and acclaimed bassists Steve Rodby and Marc Johnson.

Critical Reception: The album was highly praised by critics and customers alike. It was described as a “subtle masterclass in phrasing, groove, taste, rhythmic suppleness, harmonic sophistication and songwriting” by Eric Ford of London Jazz News. Critics lauded her “beautiful piano playing” and “dulcet voice,” with many finding the album to be a relaxing, high-quality listen with an authentic Brazilian vibe.

Key Collaborators: The album features a number of guest artists, including the a cappella gospel jazz sextet Take 6, guitarist/vocalist Roberto Menescal, R&B star Ed Motta, and Elias’s daughter, singer-songwriter Amanda Brecker. Seven of the tracks feature lush orchestral arrangements by Rob Mathes, recorded at Abbey Road Studios in London.
