“This brief LP (under 33 minutes) is a bit of a novelty since Zoot Sims, normally a tenor player, overdubbed his playing on four altos (with support from pianist John Williams, bassist Knobby Totah and drummer Gus Johnson). The obvious question (“Why?”) is never answered and the music (arranged and composed by George Handy) is nothing that unique or special. Zoot Sims completists will want to get these obscure but swinging solos but this experimental date was ultimately rather pointless.” – Scott Yanow/AllMusic.
