Charted at #1 in 1920. The importance of this catchy recording can not be over-estimated as it was one of the key pieces of music to usher in the Jazz Age of the 1920’s. It was also Paul Whiteman’s first hit, starting off a long string of smashes with over 200 charted records in Billboard over the 1920’s and 1930’s. Paul’s incredible popularity and jazzy arrangements led him to be dubbed “The King of Jazz”. “Whispering” sold over 2 million copies.
