Johnson Rag (Guy Hall, Henry Kleinkauf)

This jazz instrumental standard first made the Top 20 in 1917 – and repeated the feat in 1940, this time with a vocal part. Johnson Rag had become a favorite with the big bands in the meantime and was recorded by Glenn Miller, Jerry Gray, Jimmy Dorsey, and Cluade Thornhill, among others. The song made the charts three times in 1950, in versions by Russ Morgan, Jimmy Dorsey and Claude Thornhill.

The highest position reached by this song was Number 17 and was in the Top 30 for a total of 1 week.
