John Klemmer – Eruptions

Seminal sounds from saxophonist John Klemmer – very different than his smoother records of later years – and a key step in the direction of spiritual fusion! Klemmer blows saxes and flutes, sometimes with really cool effects pedals – and the group also features the great Lynn Blessing on vibes, plus Mike Lang on Fender Rhodes and organ, and Art Johnson on guitar and effects! John plays with great abandon on some of these tracks, and with an angular style that’s more in keeping with some of the European players of the time, than it is with his labelmates at Cadet — and titles include “Gardens Of Uranus”, “Summer Song”, “Regions Of Fire”, and “Lady Toad” (Dusty Groove).

A1 Gardens Of Uranus 8:24
