“This CD reissue brings back an unusual but consistently swinging release from the 1950s Tampa label. Bob Enevoldsen, in one of only three albums that he had as a leader, alternates between valve trombone and tenor and is joined by Marty Paich (tripling on piano, organ, and accordion), vibraphonist Larry Bunker (who switches to drums on a lengthy “Blues”), bassist Red Mitchell, and drummer Don Heath. The music (three basic originals, “Topsy,” and “Don’t Be That Way”) is more conventional than the instrumentation, but is a fine outing for all concerned with plenty of swinging solos.” – Scott Yanow/AllMusic.
