AllMusic Review by Matt Collar:
This Harry “Sweets” Edison two-fer brings together two of the legendary jazz trumpeter’s albums from 1960 with Sweetenings and Patented by Edison. Although primarily known as as mainstream stylist, Edison is joined here by such modern jazz luminaries as drummer Elvin Jones, pianist Tommy Flanagan, and others. These are both stellar small-group sessions showcasing Edison’s swinging, warm trumpet style (https://www.allmusic.com/album/patented-by-edison-mw0000900820).
