It never has been before: 3 Big Bands are playing together Duke Ellington. “Happy Birthday, Duke” contains a music project remembering the 120th birthday of Duke Ellington, the grand master of Big Band tradition. The WDR Big Band is playing together with the Subway Jazz Orchestra and the Cologne Contemporary Jazz Orchestra 3 wonderful compositions of Duke Ellington. Christian Elsässer is leading the 3 Big Bands.
