Although he’s best known for his funky version of “Feelin’ Good”, Frank Cunimondo’s true legacy is perhaps better remembered by this set of tracks recorded for the Top Shelf Lounge in Pittsburgh, where he was a regular performer. The record’s got this weird cover with an actual cork finish on the front, and pictures of Frank and the restaurant on the inside of the gatefold. The whole thing’s a groovy set of piano jazz tracks, and while none of them have any sinister breaks or anything, they do have some nice moments with a tight sound, and some good basslines. Titles include “Aqua De Beber”, “Blue Bossa”, “Close To You”, and “Hullo Bolinas”.
