From the Soul is a 1992 jazz album by American saxophonist and composer Joe Lovano, generally regarded as his masterpiece.
Reception
AllMusic review by Ron Wynn awarded the album 4.5 stars out of 5 and wrote:”Joe Lovano heads a lineup with pianist Michel Petrucciani, bassist Dave Holland, and late drummer Ed Blackwell. It’s hard-edged, explosive playing all around, with Blackwell laying down his patented bombs while Petrucciani and Holland converge behind Lovano’s dynamic solos.”
