“A slightly expanded version of flutist Herbie Mann’s 1961-62 group performs African-, Cuban- and Brazilian-influenced jazz on this appealing LP. With guitarist Billy Bean, vibraphonist Hagood Hardy, Dave Pike on marimba and four percussionists in the backup group, Mann’s flute is well featured on tunes ranging from his own “B.N.
