Promise Me the Moon is an album by the David Sanborn Band, released in December 1977 through Warner Bros. Records and reissued by Wounded Bird Records many years later. The album reached number 27 on Billboard’s Jazz Albums chart.
Reception.
The AllMusic review by Michael G. Nastos gave the album 3 stars stating “While not as much a breakthrough as the two previous albums, Taking Off and Sanborn, Promise Me the Moon laid the groundwork for Sanborn to become a successful commercial money-maker and reliable production musician or soloist.”
