Moody with Strings is a jazz album by American saxophonist and bandleader James Moody, recorded in sessions from July 1960 to January 1961, and released in 1961 on the Argo Records label. The album features Moody on tenor and alto saxophone and flute, backed by a string orchestra arranged and conducted by Torrie Zito, blending hard bop elements with lush orchestral arrangements on a mix of jazz standards and originals, including tracks like “Dorothee,” “Love for Sale,” and “I Remember Clifford.” It represents one of Moody’s rarer forays into larger ensemble settings during his career, highlighting his melodic phrasing and improvisational style within a sophisticated, string-enhanced context.
