Released in 1989, My Shining Hour is the debut solo album by the late jazz fusion and smooth jazz guitarist Chuck Loeb. After spending nearly a decade as a high-profile sideman for legends like Stan Getz and the group Steps Ahead, this album marked Loeb’s transition into a solo career that would eventually lead him to join the supergroup Fourplay.

The album is characterized by a “straight-ahead” jazz feel mixed with contemporary textures, showcasing Loeb’s technical fluidness and melodic restraint.
