Blending the orchestral pop sounds that were popular at the time with his jazz roots, Hackett delivers romantic, artful performances on  In a Mellow Mood’s “Lazy River,” “Mood Indigo,” and “You’re My Thrill.” Influenced by Hackett’s work with Jackie Gleason, both of these albums provide a similarly smooth, sweet sound with a touch more sophistication (AllMusic Review by Heather Phares).
